and cocurricular activities.Interprets for staff members and parents/guardians as appropriate and as needed.Provides mentoring to newly hired or newly certified educational interpreters under the supervision of the RDSPD Coordinator.Provides direct instruction to deaf or hard‑of‑hearing students in situations apart from interpreting responsibilities and under the supervision of an RDSPD teacher.Maintains interpreter certification.Prepares for interpreting assignments by regular review and study of subject matter and sign language vocabulary.Supervises deaf and hard‑of‑hearing students under the direction of an RDSPD teacher.Participates in professional development activities as approved by the RDSPD Coordinator.Maintains appropriate travel and overtime documentation and reports.Performs other duties as assigned by the RDSPD Coordinator, the Director for Special Education, and/or the campus principal.Working ConditionsChallenging situations; extended periods of time standing and signing; and daily in‑district travel possible.Ability to receive information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression.Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards.Ability to convey information and/or instruction to internal/external customers through spoken expression.Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day.Ability to see detailed information, naturally or with correction.SalaryISUP/507: $25.37 minimum/hour (individual salary calculation is based on applicable experience).
