We are currently looking to fill the position ofTechnology Analyst (Voice & Data)to join our Enterprise Information Technology team.What We OfferCompetitive compensationComprehensive benefits packageDefined Contribution Pension planVacationFlexible WorkplaceHoliday closureSummer hour scheduleEmployee Transit EPass through Halifax TransitJob Information And ResponsibilitiesDevelop the University Information Technology architecture in collaboration with the Technology Development and Support team.Plan for the implementation of these architectures through infrastructure change; draft and presenttheseplans to EIT staff and University departments; incorporate theseplansinto EIT systems documentation.Perform analysis of current infrastructure versus emerging technologies; recommend and justify changes to the architecture and infrastructure resulting from these analyses.Plan the implementation of technology infrastructure and upgrades (hardware and software). Work with internal staff and external departments, agencies, or vendors to implement.Assist the Manager in developing policy and procedure recommendations for the administration and access to technology to be carried out by EIT staff (account creation processes, network access policies, backup, and disaster recovery procedures,



etc.).Monitor the performance of the technology infrastructure; identify trends; make recommendations for improvement; use this information toanticipate long‑term technology issues; identify immediate non‑routine problems and take corrective action as appropriate.As an expert in a technology support area, consult with the University and EIT regarding system design, problem resolution and strategy.Maintain a high level of current knowledge in the technology area assumed.Support EIT and University staff in new systems and technologies as required.Assist in operational infrastructure changes, support, and administration.Under the supervision of EIT management, develop and recommend a project plan, including establishing objectives, funding, staffing, development, and technology requirements.The Collective Agreement can be viewed here.Experience And Education RequirementsCompletion of High School plus completion of a two- or three-year formal technical training program (i.E., Community College).Minimum of three years’ experience.Information Technology experience in a technology support role.Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).Ability to work on projects in a team environment and ability to work on an individual basis as required.Experience considered an asset:Server systems and server operations systems. Server hardware platforms and operating systems currently include HPE network equipment, Windows server,



Unix.Networks—physical and logical: Cabling systems-data, voice, video, fibre, coax; Network Equipment, switches, routers, media converters, firewalls, patch panels; Network transportprotocols—TCP/IP, voice over IP (VOIP).Security systems and technologies. This technology area encompasses, to a limited degree, aspects of the above areas.
