Contribute to the Waterloo Region District School Board's mission by becoming an After School Support staff member. This role focuses on providing care and supervision for students in grades junior kindergarten to 6 within an inclusive framework.
As a B.A.S.S. employee, you will work alongside a Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) to create supportive learning environments. Your responsibilities include facilitating children’s exploration, ensuring their safety, and encouraging effective communication both among students and with parents. Your input will help create a nurturing space for student development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement guidance from the DECE for classroom activities
• Encourage positive interactions and behavior among students




• Foster exploration and play-based learning
• Support rest, active play, and quiet time needs
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's activities
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in child supervision required
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C/AED certification required
• Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check needed
• Promote an anti-oppressive and inclusive workplace
