We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Paint Prepper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by performing thorough surface cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure a flawless finish. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality repairs and restorations, contributing to customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.

Duties

- Clean vehicle surfaces meticulously to remove dirt, grease, and old paint using hand tools and cleaning agents
- Sand and smooth surfaces with power tools to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Mask off areas that do not require paint using tape, paper, or plastic sheeting to protect trim, windows, and other components
- Mix primers and fillers accurately according to manufacturer specifications to achieve the desired surface preparation
- Handle heavy lifting of vehicle parts or equipment safely during preparation tasks
- Assist with automotive repair processes by supporting mechanics with basic tasks as needed




- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored after use

Skills

- Previous dealership or automotive repair shop experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle bodywork and painting processes
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking equipment
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a busy workshop environment
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of automotive repair procedures and safety protocols
- Mechanic experience is a plus, providing a solid foundation for understanding vehicle structures and components
