Salary Range

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Preference

Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.

Requirements

- Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.
- Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience at the Secondary level.
- Must have teaching experience in Career Education and Social Studies.
- Must provide a resume,



certificates and preferably at least three (3) current supervisory references.
- Applicants will be subject to the Criminal Records Review Act.

Job Summary

- Career Education 7-9, Social Studies 10, Contract Teacher Teaching on Call, 7-12
- 1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting October 2, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027, or return of the incumbent.
- Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Secondary level.
- Must have teaching experience in Career Education and Social Studies.
- This position schedules for 1 block of Career Education 7/8, 1 block of Career Education 9, 1 block of Social Studies 10 and 1 block as a Contract Teacher Teaching on Call Grades 7-12. Please note that all work will be on site.
- Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
