ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Set up, program, operate and maintain the following special-purpose woodworking machines:
- Optimizing saw
Finger-jointer
4-sided moulder
Dowel Laminated Panel drill and dowel pressing machine
Transfer conveyors
Wood CNC machines
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders of production schedules to determine product of job instructions and specifications
Monitor and control product quality
Identify, diagnose and rectify machined product defects
Load and remove completed work pieces or parts from machinery manually or with cranes
Make final product adjustments and prepare for shipping
REQUIRED:
Post-secondary school education or at least 5 years of machine operation experience, preferably with wood processing (Timber Machining training is considered an asset).
Mechanically inclined/maintenance experience (timber machinist or millwright background preferred)
Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to work any shift with possible overtime hours, which may include weekends.
Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment.
