As a full-line distributor of pet food and accessories, we deliver to a network of over 1,000 independent retail pet stores. Our customers in Central and Southwestern Ontario are served by our dedicated fleet of company trucks, while customers in Northern and Eastern Ontario, as well as the Maritime Provinces, receive shipments via common carrier.

We are currently seeking a full-time Truck Driver to join our growing operations team.

A Snapshot of the job:

Reporting to the Shipping and Logistics Supervisor, the Truck Driver is responsible for:

- Transporting goods such as pet food, supplies and accessories by truck from our warehouse to our customers’ retail stores
- Providing a high-level of customer service when interacting with store personnel
- Collecting cheques, cash and credit request forms from stores
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Documenting and logging work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Complying with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions




- Collecting and verifying delivery instructions
- Reporting defects, accidents or violations

What you will bring:

- DZ License or AZ License
- Proven work experience as a DZ or AZ truck driver
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian truck driving rules and regulations
- A clean Driver’s abstract
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
