Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer in the custom equipment industry in a hybrid work workplace in Burlington, Ontario.The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, analysis, and report writing. Projects will be related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment.Total rewards:$35.00 - $40.00 hourlyPreferred rates for benefit coverage availableOpportunity for extension or permanent placementHybrid work environmentA typical day:Creation of 3D models using Autodesk InventorCreation of 2D drawings and schematics using Autodesk AutoCAD or InventorSupport the design and optimization of systemsPreparation of design calculationsCreate Part Numbers in the PCS and VAULT systemAssist with the creation of project related documentation and design specificationsInterface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly. Creation of O&M manuals, BOMSWork with other engineering disciplines (e.G. process, electrical, software) to ensure integrated and well-functioning products and systemSuccessful candidates will have:3-5 years experience in designing custom made equipment for heavy industrial industriesProficiency in Autodesk Inventor and ACADExperience working with PDM (preferable Autodesk VAULT) and ERP softwarePreparation of design calculationsReading, understanding and creation of pneumatic/hydraulic schematicsStrong English verbal and written communication skills
