Be a vital part of IWK Health's precision medicine initiatives as a lab-based Genetic Counsellor in Halifax. Use your genetics training to enhance diagnostic services and patient care. In this full time, temporary position, you will support the Clinical Genomics Lab by ordering genetic tests and interpreting results.

A Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling and eligibility for certification is required. Your cooperative work with laboratory scientists and clinicians will enhance the accuracy of genetic workflows. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in ordering and managing genetic tests
Review and interpret genetic testing requests
Act as a liaison between diagnostic and clinical teams
Support development and improvement of testing services
Prepare documentation for laboratory audiences Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling required
Certification eligibility with Canadian or American boards
Experience in clinical laboratory settings is preferred
Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
