Event Server & Content Creator (Photo/Video)

Oak; is a chef-led catering company doing weddings, galas, plated dinners and canapé receptions across the Okanagan. We're adding one team member who can work as part of our service team and also capture the moments that make our events worth remembering.

The role

You'll work our events as part of a strong service team, passing canapés, serving courses and looking after guests. When the moment calls for it, you'll step off the floor to capture it: the styled tables before doors open, the first plates leaving the kitchen, the room at its best. Between events, a few flexible hours each week go to editing and organizing what you've shot.

What you'll do

- Serve at events: canapé service, plated and family-style courses, and guest care
- Capture photo and short-form video at events, on camera or phone
- Edit and deliver selects within a determined time after each event
- Keep an organized content library for our proposals, website and social media

Schedule Events are mostly evenings and weekends, with shift length depending on the service. Editing hours are flexible and scheduled around you. Through December, with ongoing work into the spring for the right person.

Pay

$27/hr flat rate for all hours, event and editing. Tips are split equally by hours worked at each event. Travel time and gas are paid for events outside Kelowna.

You need

- 2+ year of serving experience (fine dining,



events or hotel banquets preferred)
- A portfolio or Instagram that shows your photo and video work
- A quality camera or a recent smartphone, plus basic editing skills (Lightroom, VSCO, CapCut or similar), and access to editing programs.
- Serving It Right certification, or a willingness to get it before your first shift
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Availability for evening and weekend events
- Reliable transportation to venues around the Okanagan
- A polished, professional presence with guests, and the judgment to know when to capture a moment and when to stay out of it

Assets

- Experience shooting food, events or hospitality
- An eye for natural light and restrained, editorial styling
- Experience with Instagram Reels or short-form video
