Accommodations are available upon request for candidates participating in the recruitment and selection process.Summary of responsibilitiesThe Facilities Maintenance Manager will report to the Director of Facilities Services and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Services Maintenance department at the hospital. The Manager provides leadership and direction to Facilities Services staff and ensures the effective delivery of maintenance services in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and best practices.

The Manager supports the Director of Facilities Services by providing operational statistics, indicators and reports to assist with decision-making, planning and departmental goals.The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll and vacation planning, while promoting a positive and safe work environment. The Manager will manage departmental resources, materials, inventory and expenditures within approved budgets and work collaboratively with hospital departments, contractors and suppliers. The Manager will lead the Preventive Maintenance Program, coordinate facilities service calls and projects, maintain facilities records and documentation, and support construction and renovation activities.





The Manager will also manage the Facilities Condition Assessment Program (FCAP) database and assist with capital planning, cost tracking and facilities project management.Requirements of the job• Post-secondary education in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Building Operations, Engineering Technology or equivalent• 2–3 years of related facilities, maintenance or building operations experience with supervisory or management experience• Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills• Capable of working independently and managing competing priorities• Advanced computer knowledge, including databases and Microsoft Office products• Excellent understanding of facilities maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, building operations and project coordination• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and interpret operational statistics, indicators and reports• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, managers, directors, contractors, suppliers and other hospital departments• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on service needs and responding to operational issues to ensure concerns are addressed accordingly• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy• Experience working in a unionized workplace• Knowledge of procurement processes, budgeting and vendor management• FCAP knowledge or training• Emergency Response and Incident Management training• Strong commitment to occupational health and safety and patient safetyAsset:
