The Lawyers Indemnity

Fund seeks a Claims Counsel to efficiently resolve claims under various programs, including skilled liability indemnification and trust protection. You will manage a diverse caseload, offering advanced rulings and risk management advice while upholding a solid ethical standard in the legal community. Key Responsibilities:
Investigate professional negligence and theft claims
Determine indemnity coverage for claims
Manage and implement defense actions as needed
Develop strategies for claim resolution
Engage with excess insurers for reporting Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLB; positive standing required
Minimum of five years' experience in litigation
Strong communication and judgment skills
Superior writing and advocacy abilities
Familiarity with corporate litigation or taxation preferred Bring your legal acumen and dispute resolution skills to the Law Society of BC, making a positive impact within the community.
