Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our finance department with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Responsibilities

- Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets with accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and account analysis to ensure data integrity across multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, and Sage,
- Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead the development of budgeting processes and monitor financial performance against forecasts.
- Coordinate audits with external auditors and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Excellent communication skills with senior leadership.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to mentor Junior staff members.

Requirements

- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, and Sage,




- Solid knowledge of account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (CPA)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian accounting experience and able to
- prepare financial statements under ASPE.

Profile The Successful Applicant:

- CPA designation, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian accounting experience and able to prepare financial statements under ASPE.
- Strong experience within construction, real estate development, property management, or related industries.
- Proven expertise in job costing, project budgets, and construction financing draws.
- Experience working within a multi-entity environment and managing intercompany transactions.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to operate independently.
- Comfortable building structure and processes in an evolving environment.
