Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter / Concrete Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in concrete forming, particularly foundation walls, footings, and foundations for multi-storey buildings. The role involves working with various forming systems, including PERI, Doka, and Aluma forms, as well as conventional wood formwork.

The ideal candidate is comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings, working within tight project schedules, and maintaining high productivity while ensuring secure, accurate, and quality formwork installations.

Key Duties

- Construct, assemble, install, align, brace, and dismantle concrete formwork for foundations, foundation walls, footings, columns, slabs, and other structural concrete elements.
- Perform formwork for multi-storey building foundations and large-scale concrete structures.
- Work with and assemble PERI, Doka, Aluma, and conventional wood formwork systems.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, architectural drawings, formwork layouts, details, elevations, and specifications.
- Measure, layout, level, plumb, and verify formwork dimensions and elevations before concrete placement.
- Install and adjust walers, braces, ties, anchors, supports, and other formwork components.
- Work closely with supervisors, layout personnel, rebar crews, concrete crews, and other trades to coordinate construction activities.
- Assist with concrete pours and ensure formwork remains properly aligned and adequately supported during concrete placement.
- Dismantle, clean, maintain, and prepare formwork systems for subsequent use.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, site conditions, and potential formwork issues and communicate them to the supervisor.




- Work efficiently under tight construction schedules and production requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Follow site safety procedures, company policies, and applicable construction requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements

- Previous experience as a Formwork Carpenter, Concrete Forming Carpenter, or similar construction position.
- Practical experience with foundation walls, footings, and foundations for multi-storey buildings.
- Experience working with PERI, Doka, and Aluma forming systems is an asset.
- Ability to read and reasonably interpret structural and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of formwork layout, alignment, leveling, bracing, and concrete placement requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under tight schedules and production targets.
- Strong understanding of construction tools, materials, and formwork methods.
- Ability to work as part of a construction crew and follow direction from supervisors and foremen.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting materials, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and productivity.
- Previous experience on commercial, industrial, institutional, or multi-storey construction projects is an asset.

Pay: $31.08-$39.92 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
