Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body & Prep Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will handle surface preparation, panel repairs, filler application, and paint finishing to ensure every vehicle leaves our shop in pristine condition.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper paint adhesion
Apply primer, paint, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting equipment
Perform body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and filler application
Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
Conduct inspections to ensure paint quality and bodywork standards are met
Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels during repair processes
Maintain a clean and organized work workplace to ensure safety and efficiency
Collaborate with team members to complete repairs within specified timeframes
Qualifications & Skills
Core Requirements:
Practical experience with hand and power tools (sanders, grinders, pneumatic sprayers, wrenches)
Knowledge of automotive prep techniques, body filler application, and paint materials
Solid attention to detail regarding panel alignment, sanding smoothness, and finish quality
Physical ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy body panels and components
Strong team player who communicates well and meets production timelines
Preferred Assets:
Prior experience working in a dealership or high-volume collision center
Broad mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems
Light mechanic background (disassembly/reassembly, basic suspension/trim work)
