Staff Accountant – Public Practice

S. Johal & Co. Inc. is a Surrey public accounting firm serving owner-managed businesses and individuals. We are looking for a Staff Accountant with Canadian public practice experience to assist with accounting, tax and year-end engagements.

Responsibilities

● Prepare working papers and draft financial statements for compilation engagements.

● Assist senior staff with review engagements.

● Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns, T4s, T5s and GST/PST filings.

● Review bookkeeping records, reconcile accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries.

● Communicate with clients to obtain records and resolve routine questions.





● Keep engagement files organized and complete work within agreed deadlines.

Qualifications

● At least one year of Canadian public accounting firm experience preferred.

● Experience with year-end working papers, compilations and T1/T2 returns.

● Working knowledge of CaseWare, Jazzit, Profile and QuickBooks is an asset.

● Robust attention to detail, written communication and time management.
