We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled music therapist to join our team at an adult day program in Mississauga, Ontario. As a music therapist, you will utilize the power of music to enhance the quality of life and well-being of our participants through weekly in-person group sessions.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement music therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs and abilities of the adults.
Assess participants' progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and participants' progress.
Stay current with best practices and research in the field of music therapy.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program. (REQUIRED)
Membership with the Canadian Association for Music Therapy (MTA or MT-BC certified) (REQUIRED)
Registered Psychotherapist, RP or RP(Q)
affiliated with the CRPO (PREFERRED)
Experience working with adults with special needs.
Proficiency in playing various musical instruments and facilitating group music therapy experiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassion, patience, and empathy for individuals with physical and cognitive challenges.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $65.00-$75.00 per hour
