Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Overview

We are currently hiring an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team at our Oakville facility. The successful candidate will assemble, test, inspect, and repair mechanical units according to product specifications and detailed instructions.

Responsibilities
Assemble fabricated parts and mechanical units at floor stations
Use hand and power tools to complete assemblies
Read and follow blueprints, layout drawings, and assembly instructions
Test completed units and identify and repair issues as required
Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges
Modify gearbox units according to customer/order requirements
Set bearing clearance, gear contact, and backlash
Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely
Retrieve and organize inventory from warehouse shelves
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area

Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent




3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience
Strong ability to read blueprints and assembly drawings
Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges
Experience with bearing clearance, gear contact, and backlash
Large gearbox assembly experience is an asset
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
