Full Job Description

ELPC is a rapidly growing downtown Toronto criminal law firm. We currently have two full time positions available for an NCA Student - Legal Assistant position. These positions are ideal for NCA Candidates keen to launch their careers within the agile field of Criminal Law and who thrive in a quick-paced, high volume work setting.

On-the-job training will be provided as necessary.

After training, the NCA Student - Legal Assistant will have the ability to prepare and complete a variety of legal and administrative tasks related to the practice of Criminal Law, including, but not limited to:
Accurately updating E-LAW's CLIO Practice Management System (training provided)
Filing, faxing, scanning, and copying
Evidence gathering
Supporting lawyers as they prepare cases for trial
Making court appearances as permitted by NCA Licencing Restrictions
Performing other administrative tasks as required

The successful candidate should have the following skill sets and computer skills:




Be a self-starter capable of working both independently and in a group setting
Possess excellent oral & written English skills
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Possess strong MS Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Above all, have a PASSION for Criminal Law

Salary: $18.50 to $26.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
