Reporting directly to the Manager of Health, Safety & Security, the Superintendent will ensure the mine site adheres to safety regulations and effective risk management strategies. Solid leadership skills and a commitment to coaching safety personnel are essential to drive ongoing compliance and improvements.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in safety training across all mine departments - Audit and inspect operations for safety compliance - Lead safety investigation initiatives and root cause analyses - Provide technical safety advice to management and workers - Develop and review safety standards and procedures
Requirements: - 10+ years in safety roles at operating mines - 5 years in managing Occupational Health and Safety - Surface Mine Rescue Certification preferred - Robust problem-solving and communication skills - Ability to work remotely on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off basis
