We are seeking a

Data Analyst

to join a highly collaborative technology and data team supporting a complex, operational environment in Ottawa. This is an excellent opportunity for a

junior-to-mid-level Data Analyst

with strong

Power BI, SQL and Microsoft data technologies

experience who enjoys turning data into meaningful dashboards, reporting and business insights. Reporting to a senior technology leader and working closely with a

Data Architect , you will design and maintain dashboards, reports, data models and analytical solutions using

Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and related Azure/cloud analytics technologies . This is also a

stakeholder-facing role . Strong communication, listening skills and the ability to understand business requirements and explain data clearly are equally important to technical capability. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design, develop and maintain

Power BI dashboards, reports, visualizations and performance metrics

for operational and executive audiences. Develop and optimize

SQL queries

to extract, transform and analyze data from multiple systems. Build and maintain

dimensional and semantic data models

supporting reporting and self-service analytics. Develop data solutions using

Microsoft Fabric , including

Lakehouse and Warehouse

workloads, and related

Azure Data Services . Integrate structured and semi-structured data from

APIs, JSON,



file-based exchanges and relational databases . Use

Python/Pandas

for data preparation, automation and analysis. Gather and understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into effective

analytical and reporting solutions . Analyze complex datasets and communicate findings as

transparent, actionable business insights . Support

data quality, consistency, documentation, governance, privacy and security

requirements. Help evaluate, improve and automate existing reporting processes and systems. Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors/service providers. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Post-secondary degree/diploma in

Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business

or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. 3+ years of experience

in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting or a related analytical role. 3+ years developing Power BI reports and dashboards. Strong

SQL

skills, including querying, transforming and analyzing large datasets. Experience with

dimensional data modelling . Experience with

Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse), Azure Data Services

or comparable up-to-date cloud analytics platforms. Experience with

Python/Pandas . Experience integrating data using

APIs, JSON,



file-based exchanges and relational databases . Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources. Proven ability to translate

business requirements into analytical solutions . Ability to analyze complex information and present findings clearly to both

technical and non-technical stakeholders . Strong communication and listening skills , professional presence and a clear, structured approach to problem-solving. Comfortable working directly with

business users, customers and stakeholders . NICE TO HAVE

Microsoft certifications such as

Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate

or

Power BI Data Analyst Associate . Tableau

experience and exposure to other BI/reporting technologies such as

Qlik, Looker, SSRS or advanced Excel . Experience with

Snowflake, AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Experience in

aviation, transportation or another complex 24/7 operational environment . Knowledge of

data governance, privacy and information security

practices. Experience with operational performance metrics and reporting standards. Ability to communicate in

English and French

is an asset. WHO WILL SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

You don't need to be the most senior technical person in the room. We're looking for someone who combines solid hands-on data skills with the ability to

listen, understand requirements, communicate clearly and work collaboratively . You should be technically adaptable, comfortable taking direction from senior data/technology professionals, and confident interacting directly with stakeholders to turn their requirements into useful, reliable data solutions.
