Swahili Vision International Association (SVIA) is seeking a dedicated Outreach Support Worker for the Justice Pathways project. This is a part time contract position operating at 14 hours per week, running from October 2026 to March 2027.

As a Black-led organization dedicated to assisting the Black community in British Columbia, we prioritize culturally responsive programming. Fluency in Swahili and/or French is strongly preferred to support our diverse participants.

The Outreach Support Worker will play a vital role in connecting with participants, supporting community engagement, and ensuring clients receive personalized guidance throughout their involvement with the justice system.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct proactive community outreach and build robust relationships to support project visibility and participant engagement.
Coordinate, organize, and assist in teaching community workshops and information sessions.
Provide direct support to clients, which may include accompanying them to court appearances or legal meetings.
Support and guide volunteer mentors participating in the program.




Collect, track, and manage program data and participant feedback to support monitoring and evaluation efforts.
Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as required for the successful execution of the project.

Qualifications and Requirements
Current enrollment in a social work, counselling, or related field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
Robust understanding of the systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities within the Canadian context.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a compassionate and client-centred approach.
Preferred fluency in Swahili and/or French.
Experience in community outreach, workshop coordination, or direct client support is considered an asset.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for data collection and task management

Pay: $1,627.00 per month
