About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly specialized and experienced Insurance Underwriter for their Kimberley office, focusing on niche and complex insurance lines. This on-site role requires deep expertise in assessing unique risks and developing tailored insurance solutions. You will manage a portfolio of challenging accounts, work closely with brokers to understand intricate needs, and apply sophisticated underwriting judgment to ensure profitable business growth within the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite complex and specialty insurance risks, including professional indemnity, D&O;, and cyber liability.
- Analyze financial statements, loss history, and operational exposures to determine risk acceptability and pricing.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients to secure profitable business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key broking partners and clients.
- Stay current with market trends, regulatory changes,



and emerging risks in specialist lines.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in underwriting specialty insurance lines.
- In-depth knowledge of specific lines such as Professional Indemnity, Cyber, D&O;, or similar.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building broker relationships.
