LEX3 is looking for a self-motivated, practically minded, and technically confident Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge Engineering Team and take a meaningful leadership role in the delivery of bridge and transportation infrastructure projects. While you will be given training and mentoring to learn LEX3’s processes, you can expect to enjoy autonomous work leading bridge work—from project pursuits, planning, inspections, and assessments through design, construction administration, and construction completion. You will work closely with experienced senior engineers while also providing guidance to junior staff, coordinating with clients and project teams, and taking ownership of technical decisions, deliverables, schedules, and project outcomes.

This opportunity will have you immersed in a wide array of bridge-related projects including inspection, assessment, design, construction supervision, and contract administration of structures ranging from bridge-size culverts, to major bridges, as well as various other transportation infrastructure assignments. In this role, you can expect to build and demonstrate leadership in areas such as:

- Managing and coordinating bridge and transportation infrastructure projects independently
- Leading the assessment and design of replacement and rehabilitation of bridges and transportation structures

Planning and leading inspections, field reviews, direction construction supervision teams, and site-based problem solving

Preparing proposals, work plans, budgets, schedules, and scopes of work in support of project pursuits and delivery

- Mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, including providing task direction, technical guidance, and quality review support
- Design reviews and independent design checks
- Working closely with design, drafting, hydrotechnical, geotechnical, environmental, and other interdisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions

Preparing, reviewing,



and checking technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction contract documents

Supporting or acting as Engineer of Record for appropriate deliverables, including authentication of work within your area of responsibility

Leading construction contract administration and helping resolve technical issues as designs are delivered in the field

Our successful candidate will have:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, Applied Sciences, or a closely related engineering discipline from a Canadian-accredited engineering program, or an equivalent degree recognized for APEGA registration.

- Registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible to register as a P.Eng. upon employment.
- 4 to 10+ years of similar bridge engineering experience.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work from LEX3’s Calgary office within the requirements of the position.

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to transportation for site visits.

Time Commitment / Term

This is a full time, permanent position (40 hours per week).

Location

The position is required in our Calgary office. Our flexible work environment allows employees to work from home up to two days per week if preferred.
