An established Ottawa design studio is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to join our team on a part-time contract basis.

This is a project-based, as-needed position with variable hours and is ideally suited to a recent graduate of an accredited Interior Design degree program who is looking to gain hands-on skilled experience supporting projects from concept through installation.

Important Education Requirement

Applicants MUST hold a degree specifically in Interior Design from an accredited Interior Design program.

Please note that degrees in Architecture, Architectural Studies, Architectural Engineering, Interior Decorating, or other related fields do not meet the education requirement for this position, regardless of related work experience.

If your degree is not specifically in Interior Design, please do not apply.

Position Overview The Junior Interior Designer will work closely with our Lead Designer to support site visits, technical production, project documentation, installations, and deliveries.

Applicants must currently live in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Candidates must also have consistent daytime availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and be available to start as early as 8:00 a.m. when required.

To Be Considered, Applicants MUST:

- Hold a degree specifically in Interior Design from an accredited Interior Design program
- Currently live in the Ottawa/Gatineau area
- Have access to a reliable vehicle
- Have consistent daytime availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Be available to start as early as 8:00 a.m. when required
- Be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Have strong technical drafting and documentation skills
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistently on time
- Carry professional liability insurance
- Be able to provide three professional references

Up to three years of relevant skilled experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities
- Conduct site documentation, including measurements, photographs, and furniture/art inventories
- Prepare base plans, floor plans, elevations, millwork drawings, lighting plans, and furniture layouts
- Complete tile and countertop take-offs
- Create and maintain FFE schedules and spreadsheets
- Develop concept boards and furniture presentations
- Prepare paint schemes
- Attend site visits, contractor meetings, installations, and deliveries
