Job Overview The Production Assistant / Coordinator will work closely with the production, purchasing, and management teams to prepare jobs for production. The role focuses primarily on paperwork, scheduling, job preparation, material and consumable coordination, and keeping production information organized and up to date.

The successful candidate will help ensure that production has the correct information, materials, and resources needed before a job reaches the shop floor.

Responsibilities
Prepare and organize job paperwork and production packages
Schedule and coordinate jobs for production
Review drawings, specifications, and material requirements before production
Coordinate materials, consumables, and shop supplies
Monitor inventory and communicate purchasing requirements
Keep production schedules and job status updated
Communicate job priorities and changes with the production team
Follow up on missing materials, information, or requirements
Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Assist with production tracking, reporting, and general administrative tasks

Qualifications




Previous experience in production coordination, manufacturing administration, scheduling, or a similar role is an asset
Experience in steel fabrication, welding, construction, or manufacturing is an asset
Robust organizational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working with paperwork, spreadsheets, schedules, and computer systems
Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities at the same time
Solid communication and follow-up skills
Ability to work effectively with production and office personnel
Able to understand and follow production instructions and job requirements
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, or similar software is an asset
