I Love Kitchens is growing, and we are looking for a Junior Kitchen Designer to join our team and grow with us.

We welcome applicants from across Metro Vancouver, including junior designers and recent graduates.

We care more about your ability to learn, attention to detail, design sense, and work attitude than how many years you have worked in the kitchen industry.

The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of 2020 Design and basic CAD drafting skills. We will provide training on our cabinetry, products, pricing, construction details, and sales process.

About the Role

This is a showroom-based design and sales position, not a drafting-only position.

At I Love Kitchens, we do not charge customers a separate design fee. Professional design is part of the value of the products and services we sell.

You will learn how to take a customer through the complete process:

Consultation → Design → 2020 Presentation → Quote → Revision → Sale → Production

Your goal is not simply to create a beautiful drawing. Your design needs to be functional, practical, within the customer's budget, and ultimately help the customer make a purchasing decision.

Responsibilities

- Meet and communicate with customers in our Richmond showroom
- Create kitchen and cabinetry designs using 2020 Design
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, and 3D presentations
- Prepare basic CAD drawings
- Review site measurements and appliance specifications
- Develop functional layouts based on customer needs and budgets
- Learn cabinetry construction, materials, hardware, and finishes
- Prepare estimates and quotations




- Present designs and product options to customers
- Make design revisions efficiently
- Follow up with customers and help move projects toward a sale
- Prepare accurate information for ordering and production
- Coordinate with our production and installation teams

What We Are Looking For
- Working knowledge of 2020 Design
- Basic CAD drafting skills
- Good design sense and spatial awareness
- Comfortable working with measurements and dimensions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Willing to learn and accept feedback
- Comfortable working directly with customers
- Interested in developing both design and sales skills
- Responsible and able to manage multiple projects

Previous kitchen design, cabinetry, or sales experience is an asset, but extensive industry experience is not required.
