Become the lead emergency management professional at the District of North Vancouver in this temporary full time Manager role. Focus on enhancing emergency preparedness and response systems. This position will see you working closely with the General Manager, Engineering Infrastructure Services, to embed emergency management across municipal departments.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with emergency legislation, developing training programs, and coordinating community recovery efforts during an emergency. Key Responsibilities:

- Direct the execution of the District’s emergency management strategy
- Conduct and coordinate risk assessments
- Manage Department Operations Centre during activations
- Design training and exercise programs for staff
- Engage with community partners to foster resilience Requirements:
- Post-secondary qualification in relevant fields
- Significant experience in emergency management roles
- Expertise in business continuity planning
- Knowledge of local government processes and bylaws
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license required Shape disaster readiness at a municipal level and drive effective emergency planning strategies for the community.
