DONKARI is a small Japanese donburi restaurant in Calgary’s Beltline. We’re looking for 1–2 reliable part-time kitchen team members to join our fun, energetic and close-knit team.
This role is mainly for evenings and weekends. Hours can be flexible depending on availability, with opportunities for additional hours as you become fully trained and able to work independently.
What you’ll do
Food prep and basic kitchen duties
Plating and preparing orders
Packing takeout and delivery orders
Restocking and keeping the kitchen organized
Cleaning and closing duties
Helping the team wherever needed during busy service
What we’re looking for
Reliable and responsible
Quick on your feet and willing to learn
Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
Positive attitude and good teamwork
Able to stay organized and help out when things get busy
Restaurant experience is an asset, but not required — we provide training
Pay & Wage Review: $15–$17/hour + tips
Tips currently average around $2.5–$4.5/hour
Starting wage depends on experience and skill level A formal wage review will be completed after training based on your ability to work independently, speed, accuracy and overall performance
Wage increases are based on skill progression — you don’t need to wait six months or a year for a review
