Maintenance Operator/Clerk

Maintenance Clerk – The Maintenance Clerk (Parts Coordinator) is responsible for managing the maintenance storeroom, inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment records to support efficient plant operations. The role ensures the availability of critical parts for production equipment, coordinates purchasing activities, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports the maintenance team in minimizing equipment downtime while adhering to food safety and workplace safety standards.

Shift:

Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm (overtime when required for production needs)

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate inventory records for maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumable supplies.

Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming parts and materials.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder critical spare parts to prevent stock shortages.

Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories.

Identify obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure parts are clearly labeled, organized, and stored in designated locations.

Send emails to purchasing department for maintenance parts and supplies.

Communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing, quotations, and delivery schedules.

Maintain vendor records and support supplier performance evaluations.

Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.





Follow proper material handling and storage practices.

Identify and report unsafe conditions within the maintenance storeroom and facility.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP requirements, and food safety procedures.

Ensure maintenance materials and chemicals are stored in compliance with food safety standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready maintenance storeroom.

Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse management practices.
- Understanding of industrial maintenance parts and equipment components.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work in warehouse, production, and refrigerated environments as required.
- Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Understanding of industrial maintenance parts and equipment components.
- Strong communication, organizational, time management, and documentation skills.

- This position may require a regular work schedule of approximately 50 hours per week, when overtime is required. Employment is conditional upon the employee entering into a written agreement to work excess weekly hours as permitted under the Ontario Employment Standards Act. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable legislation.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
