Introduction

Our client is a growing manufacturer making significant investments in automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing technology. They are seeking a Manufacturing Automation Specialist to support automation projects, equipment commissioning, control system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across their production operations.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative automation team and play a key role in modernizing manufacturing processes through advanced controls and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems
- Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose and resolve controls, instrumentation, and automation issues
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives
- Support automation projects from design through implementation
- Modify and enhance existing control systems
- Interpret electrical drawings and controls documentation
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and system integrations
- Support automation projects across multiple manufacturing locations

Requirements

- Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering (or related discipline)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering




- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC platforms
- Strong Ladder Logic programming skills
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting industrial automation systems
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work onsite
- Occasional travel within Canada and the United States - approximately one week per month of project-related travel
- Valid passport

Preferred

- Beckhoff / TwinCAT experience
- HMI development and support experience
- Robotics exposure
- Food, beverage, packaging, or consumer goods manufacturing experience
- Industrial networking knowledge
- AutoCAD Electrical experience
- Multi-site manufacturing support experience
