You’ll be reporting into the Director of Digital Merchandising and managing a team; ensuring our customers can find the products and information they need on mec.Ca using your varied skillset to diagnose pain points and reduce friction in the customer journey. You have a strong sales mindset and an analytical approach, using data to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and improve the effectiveness of our digital merchandising strategies. You are hands‑on with digital tools, automation, and reporting, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and uncover actionable insights.You are responsible for merchandising across the customer journey including touchpoints such as the homepage, product listing pages, campaign landing pages, product recommendations, search results and more. As a subject matter expert, you will act as a resource for the team, sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and developing tools that improve workflows and decision‑making. You’ll have a varied role that takes you beyond just the basics and challenges you every day with the customer and our core values at the heart of every decision you make.Location:This can be a hybrid role based at MEC's Support Office in Vancouver or remote within Canada.As a Senior Digital Merchandising Manager; you'll:Build and maintain an exceptional experience on MEC’s digital propertiesEnsure that product discovery and findability is optimized for both search and browse experiencesCoordinate with various teams to ensure alignment between merchandising strategy, digital merchandising and marketing initiativesReview sales data and ecommerce metrics to identify and prioritize opportunities for optimization and growthCreate tools, templates and best‑practices to support the team with reporting and analysisAct as a resource and mentor, helping team members become more data-informed, effective and efficient in their workflowsExplore new merchandising practices and techniques, navigating ambiguity, defining project plans, processes and requirements, analyzing impact and collaborating cross‑functionallyDevelop and maintain a strong knowledge of MEC’s product assortment in assigned categories, understanding how customers discover and choose products within themWork collaboratively across ecommerce and other teams to improve how the digital experience supports the customer’s journeyCreate and update promotional content including the homepage, campaign landing pages, product listing page, banners and moreSupport with building the digital journey for loyalty campaigns and the digital co‑op programOptimize on‑site product recommendations to drive product discovery and basket buildingSupport the ecommerce strategy for organic searchSupport the strategy for user generated and AI contentProactively seek opportunities to build and refine processes, while capturing and documenting essential site operations knowledgeSupport new feature development and conduct user acceptance testing as needed, working closely with the Digital Product and UX teamsEvolve how we leverage merchandising technology and tools, partnering with our Digital Product teamLead cross‑functional initiatives and deliver projects as requested by the Director of Digital MerchandisingConduct research relating to industry best practices and trends of interestWhat you bring:5‑7 years’ experience in eCommerce, preferably in a hands‑on digital merchandising role within a retail businessA strong understanding of modern digital merchandising, search and product recommendations toolsStrong knowledge of Google Analytics, digital KPIs and BI toolsExperience mentoring and onboarding team membersSelf‑starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving improvementsProven ability to work with cross‑functional teams to drive execution against project goals and deliverables.A highly motivated individual, with a naturally inquisitive nature and a strong knowledge of the retail customer’s needsGreat communication skills.
