Role Description: Member of the Board of Advisors (Strategic Partnerships & Events)

Youth4Sauga is seeking experienced executives, CEOs, and senior non-profit leaders to join our Board of Advisors. Having already established a robust network of community assets ranging from local food banks to federal leadership, including Minister Rechie Valdez, we are looking for a strategic mentor to help us maximize these connections, scale our community events, and optimize our organizational choices.

This is a remote, volunteer advisory position requiring a minimal time commitment, designed to fit the schedule of busy professionals. The advisor will provide high-level guidance on future event planning, partnership activation, and strategic organizational choices.

Commitment & Logistics

- Format:



100% Virtual / Remote (Based out of the Greater Toronto Area).
- Time: Approximately 1–2 hours per month.
- Frequency: One virtual meeting every 2 to 4 weeks, supplemented by occasional email check-ins and strategic reviews.
- Governance: This is a non-fiduciary advisory role. Advisors will sign a formal Terms of Reference / Advisory Agreement rather than a legal Board of Directors liability waiver.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Advise youth leaders on executing large-scale, impactful community events and initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance on how to effectively leverage, maintain, and grow Youth4Sauga's existing high-level political and community connections.
- Participate in bi-weekly or monthly virtual advisory meetings to evaluate ongoing projects and vet future proposals.
- Offer mentorship, industry insights, and sound decision-making frameworks to the youth executive team.

Qualifications

- Executive or senior leadership experience (CEO, Executive Director, VP, Founder or Seasoned Strategists) within the non-profit, public, or corporate sectors.
- Extensive experience in large-scale event planning, community organizing, or public relations.
- Strong background in building, navigating, and activating strategic community and stakeholder networks.
- Exceptional communication and mentorship skills, with a genuine commitment to empowering the next generation of youth leaders.
