General Purpose:

Under the direction of the Shift Miller, the Miller’sAssistant is responsible for providing support to the Shift Miller and for thegeneral sanitation of the mill.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- AssistsShift Miller in all aspects of the mill ensuring product quality as per productspecification sheets and maintaining extraction and load on flour runs.
- Reportspest infestation problems to the Shift Miller and Production Supervisor
- Reportsany maintenance problems to the Shift Miller and Production Supervisor
- AssistsShift Miller in maintaining rolls, sifters, purifiers, and feeders in goodoperating condition including advising the Shift Miller and Production Supervisorof any problems.
- Responsiblefor ensuring the mill meets all sanitation requirements and the sanitationschedule is followed ensuring the appearance and cleanliness of mill.
- Mustbe familiar with the operation of the grain cleaning equipment.
- Mustbe familiar with the operation of the cracking mill.
- Conductsall sampling and quality assurance procedures.




- Workswith the Shift Miller and/or Maintenance Personnel to conduct scheduled millmaintenance.
- Isaware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
- Worksresponsibly throughout scheduled shifts.
- Responsiblefor compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirementsand company safety standards
- Followall Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks.
- Performsother tasks, including training, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Aminimum of Grade 12 education
- Mechanicalaptitude, including a working knowledge of equipment.
- Goodworking relationship with management and fellow employees
- Amechanical aptitude for diagnosing and solving problems.
- Mustbe a self-starter, with the ability to use initiative, but also able to work aspartof a team.
- Willingto work a compressed workweek (12-hour shifts)
- Availablefor shift work, including weekends and holidays as required and to work avaried schedule.
