Role Description The Occupational Therapist will provide direct assessment and intervention services to clients, with a primary focus on pediatric populations, in the community. This contract role involves conducting functional assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapy sessions that support clients in building motor, sensory, cognitive, and self-care skills.

The role includes documentation of assessments and progress notes, collaboration with families, caregivers, and other members of the team.

The Occupational





Therapist will also provide education and strategies to support carryover of skills at home, school, and in the community, while maintaining ethical and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and implementation.
- Foundational understanding of Medicine and healthcare systems to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear documentation, client education, and collaboration with families and professionals.
- Experience or training in Pediatrics, particularly in supporting children and youth with developmental, sensory, or motor challenges.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration and good standing Alberta College of Occupational Therapists.
- Ability to work independently, manage caseloads efficiently, and maintain skilled boundaries.
- CPR/First Aid certification and familiarity with trauma-informed and family-centered care are considered assets.
