This is a casual Registered Nurse position working for Inpatient Psychiatry in Fort McMurray. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Completion of an accredited nursing education program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

1 year of recent Mental Health and Addiction nursing experience, preference given to experience on an Inpatient Psychiatry unit. Preferred Qualifications:

Robust communication skills. Working knowledge of patient and family centered care principles. Demonstrated ability to independently conduct a mental status assessment, formulate a problem list, and plan care. A demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based addiction and mental health treatment modalities. A working knowledge of relevant legislation is required, including the Alberta Mental Health Act and Health Information Act. Create and manage profiles for future opportunities.
