Part‑Time High School Tutor – Math/Physics/Chemistry/Biology

Location: Oxford Learning Markham South, 213‑5005 Steeles Avenue East, Toronto, ON M1V 5K1
Employment Type: Part‑time
Pay: $18.00 per hour (Probationary period 90 days)
Schedule: Evenings (4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Monday‑Friday) and some Saturdays (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Position Overview

Teaching and tutoring students in high‑school mathematics and science (Grades 9–12). All lessons are pre‑planned; teachers receive complete training in the Oxford Learning philosophy and methods.

Responsibilities
Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels.
Deliver instruction both in‑person and online.
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Fill in post‑lesson notes.
Complete daily student communication updates.
Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
Robust understanding of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum (including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus,



vectors, physics, chemistry and biology).
Experience teaching or tutoring at the Grade 9–12 level.
Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
Robust math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time.

Additional Requirements
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Must be able to commute to the Markham location; relocation assistance unavailable.
Reliability and commitment through the end of the school year, with preference for continuation into summer.
