The Opportunity

As a Project Controller, you will play a key role at the intersection of Finance and Project Operations. You will partner with project managers to strengthen the financial management of their projects, anticipate risks, and turn financial data into meaningful insights that support better business decisions.

This role goes beyond reporting. You will act as a true financial partner to the business, contributing to discussions around profitability, forecasting, work in progress (WIP), billing, revenue recognition, and overall project performance.

You will also join BPA at an exciting time as we continue to evolve our financial processes, project management practices, and systems across the organization.

Your Daily Impact

- Lead the financial oversight of a portfolio of engineering projects throughout their full lifecycle;
- Act as a financial business partner to project managers, providing analysis, guidance, and recommendations to support decision-making;
- Lead regular project financial reviews covering WIP, revenue recognition, profitability, forecasts, and project risks;
- Analyze project budgets, forecasts, and progress to proactively identify trends, variances, and potential issues;
- Identify projects at financial risk and partner with project managers to develop appropriate action plans;
- Constructively challenge financial assumptions and help project managers strengthen their financial management practices;
- Monitor additional fees, scope changes, change directives, cost overruns,



and other factors impacting project profitability;
- Partner closely with billing teams to support accurate and timely invoicing;
- Prepare and analyze KPIs, forecasts, project performance reports, and quarterly management presentations;
- Contribute to month-end activities and project-related accounting analysis;
- Support the continuous improvement of project controls, financial processes, and management tools;
- Contribute to the stabilization and optimization of our ERP and project management systems;
- Help develop best practices and strengthen financial knowledge among project managers across the organization.

The Profile We’re Looking For You are analytical and detail-oriented, but more importantly, you enjoy understanding the business, asking the right questions, and positively influencing decisions.

You also bring:

- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project controls, project accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role;
- Experience in consulting engineering, construction, consulting, or qualified services, considered a strong asset;
- A solid understanding of project financial management, including WIP, revenue recognition, profitability analysis, forecasting, and project accounting;
- Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to turn complex financial information into clear, actionable insights;
- The ability to build trusted relationships with project managers, provide guidance, and constructively challenge assumptions and practices;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with Finance, Operations, and multidisciplinary teams;




- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously;
- A CPA designation, considered an asset;
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken.*
- Fluency in English is essential due to the shared-service nature of the role and to maintain an appropriate ratio of bilingual employees in certain positions, ensuring effective coordination and service delivery across the organization.
