Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient procedures
Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort support
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools when necessary for diagnosis
Manage patient records efficiently using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and appointments
Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering queries professionally
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing health
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards throughout all clinical activities
Requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting or related roles, with knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
Familiarity with dental management software such as Dentrix or Epic for record keeping and appointment scheduling
Basic understanding of orthodontics procedures and pediatrics is preferred but not required
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric dentistry settings
Ability to handle medical terminology accurately and confidently during patient interactions and documentation
Knowledge of CAD tools used for digital imaging or design is a plus but not mandatory
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training from an accredited program is highly desirable
