We are looking for an Intermediate Data Scientist for a 1 year contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 3 days a week on site in Downtown Toronto.

Description The Data Scientist will support the Information Security / Financial Crimes Data & Analytics team, focusing on monitoring, investigations, alert triage, and threat detection. The role will analyze large datasets, evaluate alert effectiveness, and optimize detection thresholds using Python, SQL, and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities
Analyze security and financial crime alerts to identify trends and anomalies.
Evaluate detection performance and recommend threshold adjustments.
Develop data-driven insights to support investigations and monitoring programs.
Create and maintain analytical reports and dashboards.
Collaborate with business, risk, and security stakeholders.

Must Have




Strong Python skills
Strong SQL skills
Solid statistical analysis experience
Experience working with large datasets and data analysis

Databricks
Machine Learning
Banking, Fraud, Financial Crimes, or Cybersecurity experience
