TheCanalta Group of Companies is a privately held, Canadian-owned company focusing on the manufacturing and service of industrial control and measurement equipment, specifically targeting the gas industry and supplying products internationally. We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Accounting Administrator to work on-site at our main office location in Red Deer, AB .

What will you do? Support day-to-day accounting activities, general ledger maintenance, and month-end accounting processes
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, inventory adjustments, amortization, depreciation, and other recurring entries
Prepare monthly bank, general ledger, and intercompany reconciliations and investigate routine discrepancies
Prepare and file GST returns and reconcile the applicable general ledger accounts
Assist with preparing monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analyses
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and help ensure reporting deadlines are met
Support financial reviews and year-end audits by preparing working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation




Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with established policies and internal controls
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of routine accounting processes
Work effectively within the company's ERP and financial reporting systems
Assist with other accounting, reporting, and finance-related projects as required
What do you need? Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of related accounting experience
Practical experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
Understanding of accruals, prepaids, inventory accounting, and financial statement preparation
Experience preparing GST returns and related reconciliations
Experience using an ERP accounting system; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an asset
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet monthly reporting deadlines
Ability to investigate discrepancies and independently resolve routine accounting issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information
Experience supporting external financial reviews or audits is considered an asset
Experience in a multi-entity, manufacturing, or inventory-based organization is considered an asset
