The University of Calgary seeks an Assistant Professor specializing in Materials for Quantum Technologies. Innovate research and engage in impactful teaching, beginning in 2027. This tenure-track position will reside in either the Faculty of Science or Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. Linked to the prestigious Eddie Goldenberg Research Chair, the successful applicant will enhance UCalgary's research capabilities in quantum technologies.
Responsibilities include developing a cutting-edge research program, teaching a range of graduate and undergraduate courses, and mentoring graduate students in their scholarly pursuits. Key Responsibilities:
Spearhead cutting-edge research in quantum materials
Secure external research funding and publish findings
Develop and teach courses across various formats
Mentor and supervise graduate students at the MSc and PhD levels
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in relevant fields Requirements:
Doctoral degree in materials science or equivalent
Expertise in quantum materials and engineering approaches
Proven record of research excellence and funding success
