Step into the role of Powerline Technician Apprentice at Valard Construction in Tilbury, Ontario. This apprenticeship allows trainees to gain practical skills in electrical distribution systems alongside experienced technicians. At Valard Construction, Powerline Technician Apprentices will work directly with Journeypersons to learn essential skills such as installation and maintenance of electrical facilities. While gaining experience, you will also be required to climb and safely handle energized circuits. Candidates must be enrolled in an appropriate apprenticeship program. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Journeypersons for hands-on learning
Climb and service poles and electrical towers
Execute splicing and insulating conductors
Safely operate line trucks and related gear
Perform installations for both underground and overhead systems Requirements:
Active enrollment in a Powerline Technician Apprenticeship
Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract
Knowledge of electrical safety protocols
Availability for different shifts and assignments
