With reporting responsibility to the Manager, LTC Education Services, the Program Development Educator (PDE) supports the development of the P.I.E.C.E.S.™ education program and serves as the champion and resource support for the P.I.E.C.E.S.™ program for all five former health regions across south Saskatchewan (Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region, Five Hills Health Region, Cypress Health Region, Sun Country Health Region and Sunrise Health Region. “The acronym “P.I.E.C.E.S.” represents a holistic approach to assessing all aspects of a client, i.e: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Capabilities, Environment, and Social. The incumbent is accountable for planning, implementing and evaluating P.I.E.C.E.S.™ as a model of care across the five Health Authorities and has Program responsibility for sustaining and growing the program to support current and future needs and building capacity by embedding the use of the P.I.E.C.E.S.™ approach in the delivery of care. This includes fulfilling the role of primary coach and mentor to support and sustain the spread of P.I.E.C.E.S.™ across the continuum of care and to ensure consistency, continuity and standard practice.



The PDE works collaboratively with other leaders and educators across southern Saskatchewan to provide education services consistent with the overall P.I.E.C.E.S.™ program direction. In addition to coordinating and promoting the spread of P.I.E.C.E.S.™, the incumbent assesses learning needs of staff, plans, implements, and evaluates education activities/programs as these relate to the care of elderly clients. In collaboration with the Program Services Manager, CNE Supervisor, other stakeholders such as leadership in continuing care homes, hospital and the SHA the PDE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing and evaluating education activities/programs. Human Resources Exemption:

No Education Graduate from an approved School of Nursing Competencies Computer skills - Basic Clinical data analysis skills Leadership Skills Experience Experience in dementia care within the past (5) years Experience working with older adults Experience using applicable clinical/health assessment tools Proven ability to apply the P.I.E.C.E.S care model will be considered an asset Minimum of three (3) years relevant long term care nursing experience Requires experience in planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation. Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills,



and leading group activities Requires experience in program/resource development related to needs assessment. Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into clinical practice Other Education and Training Requires or in progress towards a recognized Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Other Information Experience using EMR and InterRAI assessment tools will be considered an asset. Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK (CRPNS) This position's transportation is supported by a CVA. Valid Class 5 driver's license Travel allowance available for occasional use of a personal vehicle
