The Opportunity

RVS is currently seeking applications for a temporary, full-time (40 hrs/week) Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties at Ecole Edwards ElementarySchool starting immediately to December 4, 2026 . Monday to Friday after school hours with the exceptionof 1-2 day shifts per month (as per School Year Calendar). Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator and Building Operator, the Caretaker I providescaretaking services at their assigned Rocky View Schools (RVS) facilities. The Caretaker I is responsiblefor the housekeeping of school buildings, maintaining contents and furnishings in good appearance and inclean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor. Ecole Edwards ElementarySchool, located in the City of Airdrie, serves English and French students from grades K-6. Responsibilities Include





Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks

Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment

Demonstrated pride in workmanship

Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator

Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation

Education/Experience

Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset

Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset

Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset

An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Knowledge/Skills

Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures

Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision

Effective written and verbal communication skills

6% vacation pay

As this is a temporary position there is no employer paid sick time, pension, or benefits

Rocky View School employees who are ineligible for employer paid benefits may access the supplemental perks package at their own cost
