Title: ProjectAccounting & Bookkeeping Support
Department: Lil’watManagement Services
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Compensation: $22–28 per hour
Status: Casual
Hours: Flexiblehours, based on business need; up to Full Time.
Work Location: Primarily in‑person;limited hybrid flexibility possible.
Role Purpose
The Project Accounting & BookkeepingSupport provides hands‑on transactional finance capacity to support day‑to‑dayaccounting operations and maintain audit‑ready financial records across theLil’wat Business Group. The position is designed ensure continuity of corebookkeeping, reconciliations, and documentation, particularly during peakperiods, audits, vacations, or project surges.
The role supports multiple entities and mayassist with retail and construction‑related bookkeeping where required, with apractical and detail‑oriented focus to ensuring reliable foundational data.
Key Responsibilities
Processand maintain accurate Accounts Receivable records, including paymenttracking and follow‑up on discrepancies
SupportAccounts Payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and basicmatching
Performbank and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
Maintainaccurate, well‑organized financial records across multiple businessentities
Supportjob costing and project tracking for construction and operationalactivities
Ensuretransactional data is complete, timely, and properly coded to supportmonth‑end and audit processes
Prepareand organize documentation required for audits, reviews, and internalcontrols
Maintainorderly digital and physical filing systems to ensure audit readiness
Work withoperational staff to clarify transactions and resolve missing orinconsistent information
Flagerrors, gaps, or risks in financial records and follow through toresolution
Providecoverage and backup for routine finance tasks to support operationalcontinuity
Prioritizeclear handoffs and record‑keeping
Performother related duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes
1–4 yearsof experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or similar transactionalfinance roles
Post‑secondarycoursework or training in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping preferred
Practicalunderstanding of core accounting concepts (debits/credits,reconciliations)
Experiencewith accounting software (e.g., Sage or similar) is an asset
Exposureto project‑based, construction, or retail environments is an asset
Comfortableworking across multiple entities and business lines
Strongattention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes
Accuracy,consistency, and documentation over speed
Organized,reliable, and able to work independently with explicit direction
Professionaland respectful in interactions with staff, vendors, and Members
Willingnessto work on‑site and collaborate closely with operations teams
