Aunt Leah’s Independent Lifeskills Society is hiring a temporary, Seasonal Operations Coordinator to lead the logistical and operational functions of our 2026 Annual Christmas Tree Lot Fundraiser — a long-standing community tradition that directly supports youth transitioning from foster care and young moms.

Under the direction of the Tree Lot Manager, you’ll coordinate day-to-day operations across 2 Vancouver and Burnaby tree lot locations. From managing transportation and inventory to supporting setup/teardown and staff coordination, you’ll be the key to keeping our tree lots running safely, efficiently, and joyfully.

Seasonal Schedule:
This is a temporary, full time seasonal position running from October 26 to December 23, 2026, or earlier if inventory sells out, with up to 40 hours per week.

Pre-Sales & Setup: October 26 – November 27, 2026
During the preparation and pre-sales period, the schedule will generally be Monday to Friday, working alongside the Tree Lot Manager to prepare sites, coordinate inventory and transportation, arrange supplies, support setup, and ensure both locations are ready for the busy sales season.

Active Sales Season: November 28 – December 23, 2026
Once the tree lots open for the main sales season, the schedule will generally shift to Wednesday through Sunday, with flexibility required to work daytime, evening, and weekend shifts based on operational needs. The Operations Coordinator will maintain a consistent operational presence across both locations and may be required to provide coverage when staff are unavailable.

This role is ideally suited for someone with experience in small business operations, retail, or logistics, who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make an impact.

Burnaby Lot – All Saints Anglican Church at Royal Oak and Rumble; 7405 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby

Vancouver Lot - St. Stephen’s United Church at 54th and Granville St; 7025 Granville St, Vancouver

Status:
Temporary Full-Time, Seasonal (October 26th, 2026 to December 23rd, 2026 or earlier, if sold out); variable hours; up to 40 hours per week

Compensation:
$23.00/ hr.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of small business management or supervisory experience; or a relevant combination of education and experience will be considered

Requirements:

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable persons)

A valid BC driver’s license, and access to reliable vehicle

Clear driver’s abstract

Demonstrated ability to drive a 15’ truck

Ability to safely drive in rainy and snowy conditions

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions during Christmas Tree sales season in November and December; waterproof clothing & footwear is required

This position involves physical work moving objects weighing up to 50lbs

Ability to safely operate hand tools – drills, hammer, saws, loppers

Assets:

Valid First Aid Certification is an asset

Ability to be flexible and manage multiple priorities

Ability to drive a 15’ truck

Ability to safely drive in rainy and snowy conditions

Knowledge of retail management best practices

Strong sales and customer service skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities:





Works alongside the Social Enterprise Lead ensuring the overall success of our Christmas Tree sales season

Manages truck rentals throughout season

Coordinates and manages transportation of inventory and supplies between donation center and various tree lots, including loading and unloading

Works regular shifts at various tree lots at various tree lots as operationally needed

Is on call to cover sales shifts when staff are absent due to illness or other unforeseen situations

Oversees supplier deliveries, ensuring timely unloading of trees

Establishes positive relations with individuals and groups who volunteer

Assists the Social Enterprise Lead to ensure tree sales are executed profitably and in compliance with standardized business practices – Daily cash reconciliation, , and open and close procedures at each location

Ensures that each Tree Lot is clean, safe, and secure according to Aunt Leah’s health and safety policies

Working closely with Lot Coordinators throughout season, ensuring timely garbage and green waste pick up, coordinating supply restock, managing site take down

Maintains a consistent onsite presence at all Tree Lot sites during weeks of operations

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs

Working Conditions:

Hours of work – Temporary Fulltime; up to 40 hours per week; generally, Wednesday to Sunday and must be available and flexible to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as needed; schedule may change based on operational needs

Regular work shifts will be at Seymour office (Vancouver), and seasonal Christmas Tree Lots located within Metro Vancouver

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions during Christmas Tree sales season in November and December; waterproof clothing & footwear is required

This position includes physical work moving objects weighing up to 50lbs

This position requires travel to various locations within Metro Vancouver
