About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Procurement Officer focused on Capital Equipment to join their team in Kimberley . This role is critical for managing the acquisition of significant plant, machinery, and technological equipment essential for operations. You will be responsible for the entire procurement lifecycle, from defining requirements and identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing delivery and installation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of capital expenditure processes, complex contract terms, and a proven ability to secure best value for large-scale purchases, working within a hybrid model that requires both strategic on-site engagement and remote analysis.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, ensuring compliance with policies and budget constraints.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify leading suppliers of specialized capital equipment.
- Lead negotiations for pricing, payment terms, warranties, and service agreements for significant equipment purchases.
- Develop and manage bid processes, including RFPs, RFQs, and tender evaluations.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers,



and finance teams to align equipment acquisition with project timelines and financial plans.
- Oversee equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning, ensuring successful integration into operations.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a proven specialization in sourcing capital equipment .
- Demonstrated experience in managing large capital expenditure projects and complex contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, project management principles, and risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and project management tools.
