We are looking for a positive, energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our established and supportive dental team. Whether you are an experienced hygienist or beginning your career, we would love to hear from you. No previous experience is required. We are looking for someone who brings excellent clinical standards, a willingness to learn, positive energy, and a genuine commitment to patient care.

And because your life outside the clinic matters too, our doctors support a four-day workweek with no evenings and no weekends. Future opportunities for Fridays and Saturdays available.

West Hill Dental is a Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) hygiene practice, giving our hygienists access to technology designed to support effective patient care while helping make the physical demands of a hygiene career easier on your body.

We are also a Dexis Digital X-ray and iTero digital impression practice, using digital technology for Invisalign and our everyday impression procedures.

Our team has also been trained to support Dr. Zoe Nath’s longstanding interest in Facial Rejuvenation and Neuromodulator treatments with Botox, an area she has incorporated into the practice since 2015.

Technology is important to us but so are communication and teamwork. We begin our days with morning team huddles so everyone understands the day’s schedule, patient needs, priorities, and opportunities to support one another.

What You’ll Do
As a Registered Dental Hygienist at West Hill Dental, you will provide comprehensive preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene care while helping our patients achieve and maintain excellent oral health.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and reviewing relevant patient medical and dental histories.

Providing preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene treatment within the Registered Dental Hygienist scope of practice.

Performing periodontal assessments, including periodontal charting and ongoing evaluation of periodontal health.

Providing scaling, root planning, debridement, polishing, and other appropriate hygiene therapies based on individual patient needs.

Utilizing Guided Biofilm Therapy technology as part of preventive and periodontal patient care.

Taking prescribed digital dental radiographs using our Dexis Digital X-ray technology and maintaining appropriate diagnostic image quality.

Screening for oral health concerns and communicating clinical findings appropriately with the dentist and other members of the clinical team.

Providing individualized oral hygiene instruction and helping patients understand the relationship between preventive care, home care,



and long-term oral health.

Educating patients regarding periodontal disease, caries prevention, nutrition, risk factors, and recommended preventive treatment.

Applying preventive agents and therapies as appropriate and within professional scope of practice.

Supporting patient recall and continuing-care programs based on individual oral health needs and risk factors.

Maintaining complete, accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation and patient records.

Following infection prevention and control protocols, sterilization requirements, privacy requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Preparing and maintaining your operatory and clinical equipment to ensure a safe, organized, efficient patient experience.

Collaborating closely with our dentists, fellow hygienists, RDA IIs, and administrative team to provide coordinated patient care.

Participating in our daily morning huddles and contributing to a positive, organized, team-focused work environment.

Supporting the practice’s digital workflow, including iTero technology and other clinical technologies as appropriate.

Maintaining professional competency through continuing education and staying current with dental hygiene standards and best practices.

Most importantly, helping patients feel comfortable, informed, respected, and genuinely cared for every time they visit us.

Requirements

Registered Dental Hygienist eligible to practice in Alberta.

Current Alberta registration/licensure to practice dental hygiene required.

Commitment to maintaining applicable continuing competency and professional requirements.

Strong communication and patient education skills.

Commitment to infection prevention, patient safety, confidentiality, and professional standards.

Positive, dependable, collaborative approach to working as part of a dental team.

Dr. Zoe Nath founded West Hill Dental more than 25 years ago, and our Associate Dentist, Dr. Dickson, has been part of the practice for more than 16 years.

Our team activities extend beyond the clinic too. For one Christmas celebration, we enjoyed a private holiday workshop with local wellness business The Green Goddess, where our team made our own body butters, bath salts and sugar scrubs.
