MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport is a modern and dynamic airport undergoing significant growth. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. As a mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of a fleet of heavy and light equipment used to maintain the airport site. Your expertise will help ensure the proper operation of our vehicles, thereby supporting the safety and efficiency of our operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose breakdowns and technical issues with equipment, including snowplow and runway sweeper trucks, de-icing/abrasive spreader trucks, snow blowers, tractors, front-end loaders, and/or other specialized vehicles.

Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs and modifications to ensure the proper operation of equipment.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety procedures and established standards.

Collaborate with other team members to optimize response times and minimize downtime.

Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used,



in accordance with company standards.

Monitor parts inventory and place orders when necessary.

Collaborate in problem-solving efforts.

Consult various drawings and maintenance and parts manuals as needed.

Perform any other related duties associated with the position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in automotive mechanics, agricultural mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, or road vehicle mechanics is a robust asset.

5 to 8 years of relevant experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.

Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting methods of various systems, including hydraulic, hydrostatic, electrical, pneumatic, and other systems.

Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Strong ability to assess situations with sound judgment and make informed decisions.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy loads.
